A WELL-stocked deli in Broadway is looking forward to welcoming a food writer, critic and former chef who is dropping in for a visit.
Simon Hopkinson, who has written Simon Hopkinson Cooks, will be at the Broadway Deli on Saturday, May 10 from11am signing copies of his new book.
The foodie also has his own Channel 4 show where he reveals the secrets that go into making the world's most delicious restaurant dishes.
Deli owner Louise Hunt said it was first event of its kind in the shop.
"This is a really exciting event for us as Simon is a massively well respected name in the food industry and is an inspirational cook," she said.
On Friday, April 25 the deli is hosting its third Meet the Producer session of the year with guest Simply Seasonal.
The business is run by two friends Hayley Newsholme and Wendy Sharpe, of Pitchers Hill, Wickhamford, near Evesham, who produce pickles and preserves.
Mrs Hunt said the monthly events were going really well so far.
"People seem really interested in it, it's a nice thing," she said. "Even in the winter months they've been well supported. I'm hoping it's going to build and build."
The Deli moved into St Patrick’s, in the High Street, from its old shop on the Green last year and is split across two levels, boasting a coffee shop and outdoor seating area.
Previously owned by the late Ron Porter, the 17th century building has a long and interesting history, serving as a tea room, a guest house and until 1849, a vicarage.
