PETROL heads can look forward to seeing more than 500 cars driving into a Cotswold village later this year.

Churchill's vintage and classic car show, held every two years on the large village green next to All Saints’ Church, near Chipping Norton, is taking place on Sunday, June 8 from noon to 5pm.

The original Car Show described as “A Cavalcade of Cars” was held as part of a village event to raise funds for the restoration of the church and attracted 38 cars.

Over the years the popularity of the show has grown to such an extent that it now support charities outside the village.

This year's show is raising money for The Chipping Norton Theatre, Lawrence Nurses and The Cystic Fibrosis Trust.

Attractions will include a Jazz Band and stalls as well as breakfasts, lunches and teas provided by the W.I.

Real ale can be enjoyed at the bar near the barbecue and the church will be open with a themed floral display, Poetry & Praise, along with the Heritage Centre Museum.

With more than 500 entries, there is now no more space for cars, just motorcycles.

Really happy this show is coming back - we went last year and it was great to see everyone showing off the work they'd done on their campers and cars... such a fun event.
