YOUNG photographers in Worcestershire are being given the chance to develop their skills at a series of workshops run by Wychavon District Council.

The course for teenagers aged between 13 to 16 is run in partnership with the Vale of Evesham Network of Artists and will include training on studio lighting, camera skills and creativity.

The first workshop of the five-week studio lighting course will be held at Davies House in Davies Road, Evesham from 4.30pm until 6pm on Wednesday, March 12.

The ten-week camera skills and creative camera skills will begin at South Worcestershire College in Davies Road, Evesham, on Wednesday, May 7.

The council's arts development officer Jenny Davis said: “It’s so great that we can offer young people further photography workshops, this time in studio lighting, camera skills and creative camera skills.

"We hope that this will be a great success as it is something we haven’t offered before.

"You don’t need to have any previous camera experience to attend – just come along with your camera, build your confidence and do something creative outside school hours.”

Participants must bring their own camera.
