GLOUCESTERSHIRE County Council is set to make £2.8million in savings over the next five years through a new ICT contract.
From April 1, a new provider, Steria, will deliver the county council’s internal ICT services.
Savings will be made through a flexible way of working, where the council only pays for the services it uses.
Staff working on site at the council for current provider, Capita, will transfer to Steria and will also be supported by Steria staff off site, who can provide specialist expertise and additional resources if needed.
The new contract will mean the council can drive down costs by looking at how it is using its ICT assets, including relocating the datacentre to a modern cloud based solution, reducing the network where possible and securing value for money from suppliers.
