YOUNGSTERS at Swell School are gearing up to become Guinness World Record Breakers by singing and signing the same song, at the same time in different locations.
Again this year, the children have been very busy learning sign language in preparation for the annual nationwide Sign2Sing event.
The event is run by charity Signhealth, which has been working for more than 20 years to improve the health of deaf people.
So far the school has raised just over £40 and is hoping to raise even more cash by inviting all the children to wear a scarf to school and donate £1.
Judy Morgan, school administrator, said: "This is a terrific initiative which teaches the children a new and valuable skill as well as raising awareness of Deaf issues."
Now in its fourth year, sign2sing has become a major national fundraising initiative involving more than 300,000 primary school children and adults across 1,000 schools in the UK and abroad.
