WITH Christmas just around the corner, residents in the Cotswolds are being urged to keep on recycling over the festive period.

In addition to using the kerbside recycling services, people can make full use of the district’s network of recycling banks.

People can also use the local Household Recycling Centres which accept an even wider variety of materials for recycling.

These will be open every day from 9am to 6.15pm, except for Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.

Councillor David Fowles, cabinet member for the environment at Cotswold District Council, said: “Anyone needing a recycling box or food waste caddy can order one by contacting the council on 01285 623123 or can collect one in person by visiting the council offices in Moreton.

“Also, don’t forget that the council can shred and compost real Christmas trees provided they are taken to Batsford Garden Centre in Moreton and Dobbies Garden Centre in Cirencester between January 6 and 19 2014”.
