CHILDREN keen to keep their environment clean were out in force at Bidford CE Primary School as they cleaned away litter that has been blowing into the school grounds during the recent windy weather.

The eco-committee at Bidford school went on a ‘Womble walk’, after the children’s characters who reused litter they found on Wimbledon common.

The group, which has bought a set of new litterpickers in an effort to keep their local area tidy, collected almost two full bags in just half an hour.

The Womble walk came shortly after the school received the Silver Eco- Schools Award to recognise their efforts in improving the school environment and this new project will contribute further to the Green Flag Eco-Schools Award they are hoping to apply for towards the end of the academic year.
