THE FIRST woman president of Rotary International in Great Britain and Ireland (RIBI) enjoyed a visit to projects in Evesham.

Nan McCreadie was accompanied by members of the Rotary Club of Evesham, including past president Jan Harris who is now the first female district governor for the area.

They had lunch at Working World, a charity based in Evesham that the Rotary Club supports through its Tree of Light donations.

The charity helps disabled people who need support in order to find employment.

Mrs McCreadie and Mrs Harris met Helen Herdman who runs the charity, along with her husband Kevin, and a number of their clients, and saw them packing baskets of sweets for distribution.

The party then visited Prince Henry’s Academy where it met young members of the school’s newly formed Interact Club. Interact is a Rotary youth club for those aged 12 to 18 who work together to help others in the community and across the world, while having fun at the same time.

Students will be organising all of the school’s fund-raising through its Interact Club More about the visit can be found at therotaryclubofevesham.org.uk.
