THE Pershore and District branch of Arthritis Research celebrated National Arthritis Week with a lunch at Holland House, Cropthorne, last Friday.
Pupils from Cropthorne and Charlton First School and their head, Sally Martin, turned up to hand over their collecting tins and were thanked by branch president Helen Fowler.
She said: “Arthritis can affect people of all ages and your contributions will go towards helping researchers find a way of making lives easier for people with arthritis.”
Mrs Fowler presented baskets of pansies to the children as a thank you for the £174 raised – £460 was raised at the lunch where the guest speaker was Sue Arnott, vice-patron of Arthritis Research UK, who was hit by arthritis while still a student. She talked about how she had coped with the effects during her life.
