Fun for all on plum Monday
12:00pm Saturday 24th August 2013 in News
A FRUITY bonanza which has been running throughout the month in Pershore will climax on Bank Holiday Monday.
This year’s Pershore Plum Festival highlights will include the Plum Parade, the Big Plum Beer, Food and Music Festival, the West Midlands’ biggest collection of vintage cars and activities for all the family.
A record number of shops in the town will open throughout the long weekend and most of them have joined in the purple window display competition, being judged on Saturday by Antique Roadshow’s Henry Sandon.
The main attraction will be the huge variety of plums on offer in a range of guises including sausages, pies, cocktails, beer, jam, chutney, cakes, Wellington boots, plum baked ham, burgers and paté.
Organiser Angela Tidmarsh said: “This year looks set to be our biggest yet. We’ve more food producers than ever and each one has had to create a plum product to enable them to be a part of the Festival. All three days over the Bank Holiday are fun-filled so, whenever people visit, they’ll enjoy a plumtastic day out. And it’s free for people to visit.”
