Tourism top of agenda at Cotswold forum
9:56am Tuesday 19th February 2013 in News By Freya Leng
THIS year’s tourism season will be top of the agenda when businesses get together on Tuesday.
The Cotswolds Tourism Annual Forum event at Cheltenham Racecourse will be compèred by Rob Rees MBE, The Cotswold Chef and include speakers Tom and Henry Herbert, the Fabulous Baker Brothers, and Louise Stewart, VisitEngland’s Director of Partnerships and Performance.
They will be joined by Chris Dee, marketing manager of Cotswolds Tourism, and Qing Lin of Join in China who will be discussing the importance of the Chinese Market.
“Our annual forum is a rare chance for businesses in tourism to get together,” said Mr Dee. “We have some strong promotional ideas for 2013 and you can’t beat direct contact with our accommodation providers, attractions, retail, restaurants and transport providers."
The talks will be followed by the popular Cotswolds Travel Market with stands from the Cotswolds Conservation Board, Cotswold Attractions Group, Barclaycard and Gloucestershire Tourist Information Centres.
“We were over-subscribed last year so it’s important that tourism businesses sign up in advance - spaces are limited,” added Mr Dee.
Those interested in attending the tourism forum should email tourism@gloucestershire.gov.uk to reserve their place.
