A COTSWOLD teenager is hoping her dream of working in fashion will come true after making it through to the semi-finals of a beauty competition.

Lydia Dockar-Drysdale, a pupil at Chipping Campden School, has made it through to the last stages of Teen Queen UK, a beauty competition with an emphasis on charity work.

The 14-year-old, of Whichford, near Shipston, has made it through the heats and is now hoping to win public votes and reach the finals.

Lydia, who is studying for her GCSEs, said she entered the competition at the Clothes Show in November.

“I didn’t really expect anything and I got to the semis,” she said.

“It’s a big step for me. Modelling is really what I want to get into.

“I want to get into fashion and textiles. It would be great if I could get further in the industry. It’s just going to be a good opportunity to experience it.”

The two successful girls in each heat will go through to the finals in London in August. For details and to vote, visit missteenqueenuk.com.
