A NEW cook book of treasured recipes has been launched by a Cotswold primary school to raise funds for school improvements.

Children at St Catharine’s School, Chipping Campden, have gathered some of their favourite recipes together for the book which has already raised £500 towards the proposed new sound system for the school’s main hall.

The cook book, which has been sponsored by global food research company Campden BRI, features more than 70 pages of recipe ideas for snacks, starters, main courses and desserts.

Local Campden-based hotels, restaurants, coffee shops and inns have also backed the initiative by including recipes in the book for some of their most popular dishes on their menus. Michael’s Mediterranean Restaurant has disclosed its recipe for Baklava while The Kings Hotel has ventured its recipe for Cotswold lamb hotpot. Recipes for afternoon treats are also included by Bantam Tea Rooms and Badgers Hall.

Headteacher Joanne Welch said: “This cook book would not have been possible without the enthusiasm of the parents and support from the local community.”
