EMBLEM: Chloe Taylor, who created the new burgee for Chipping Norton Yacht Club
THIS brightly-coloured flag has been unveiled as the emblem of Chipping Norton’s newly-formed yacht club.
As reported in the Journal two weeks ago, residents with a keen interest in sailing and boats can become a member of the Chipping Norton Yacht Club, which is set to meet later this month.
The club’s burgee has been created by local graphic designer, Chloe Taylor, who lives in Spelsbury, near Chipping Norton.
“I based the design for the burgee on the ‘C’ and ‘N’ of Chipping Norton,”
said the 22-year-old. “I have discovered that code flag ‘C’ means Yes and code flag ‘N’ means No.
“I hope that does not confuse any passing admirals or suggest the club members are indecisive.”
The design, as well as being used on the club burgee, will be used on a variety of club products from T-shirts to mugs.
More than 100 people have already shown an interest in the club, which will meet on every last Wednesday starting on January 30 at the town’s golf club on London Road.
