RESIDENTS can find out more about volunteering with the National Trust at Snowshill this weekend.

With many people having New Years resolutions to brighten up their life and get out more in 2013, spending some time volunteering at the National Trust’s Snowshill Manor and Garden, near Broadway, could be the answer.

On Saturday there is a chance to meet staff and current volunteers at Snowshill to find out more.

Famous for its extraordinary collection of craftsmanship and its quirky hillside garden, staff and volunteers are now gearing up for re-opening to the public at the end of March, and are looking for new faces to join their friendly team.

Opportunities range from welcoming and engaging visitors to Snowshill, helping the gardens team or in the second-hand bookshop.

There are also opportunities for people interested in selling, building, cooking, or organising.

Hayley Gaisford-Gotto, property manager, said: "Our volunteers are a vital part of our team, bringing this intriguing Manor and Garden to life. "We need 15 of them each day just to open to the public, and they really are the lifeblood of what we do, whether meeting and greeting our visitors or working behind the scenes.

"It's sociable, good fun and very rewarding - which is why most of our volunteers come back year after year."

The open morning takes place between 10am and 12noon. Potential volunteers can drop in for tea/coffee and biscuits and a rare chance to have a tour of the Manor and Garden in the winter.
