THE stars of the future took to the stage this month to audition for district talent competition the W Factor.

Singers, actors and performers aged 11 to 18 auditioned for the contest organised by Wychavon District Council last week.

This year the categories were visual art, short film, music, singing, dance, drama, and circus skills.

They are now hoping to make it in to the 2013 finals being held at Number 8 Community Arts Centre on Monday, February 25. A winner will be chosen from each group and last year more than 200 people watched the event. The successful acts will receive assistance with further training and will be invited to perform at future Wychavon events, especially during the busy summer festivals.

Tickets for the final will be £5 each and are available from the box office on 01386 555488 after January 25.

Final auditions will be held on Wednesday between 4.30pm and 6pm at Pershore Civic Centre.
