TWENTY people have been arrested in the last week as part of Gloucestershire’s Christmas drink-drive campaign.

These included one Cotswold man and nine of those arrested were women.

Michal Dobrowolski, aged 34, of Station Road, Bourtonon- the-Water, was arrested at 2.35am on December 26. He was later charged with drink-driving and bailed to appear at Cheltenham Magistrates Court on February 8.

Inspector Jason Keates, of the force’s road policing unit, said: “There may be a perception among the public that drink-drivers are all young men, but this is not the case – it can be anyone.

We have arrested both men and women, from a wide range of ages and many different backgrounds.

“The thing to remember is that the only way to be 100 per cent sure you are safe to drive is to have nothing to drink at all. There is no concrete method to calculating whether you are over the limit. Everyone is different and how often you drink, what you have eaten and how big you are can all make a difference.”
