STOW is gearing up for the festive season with a special one-day celebration.

Spirit of Stow is being held to raise funds for Kate’s Home Nursing on Saturday, December 8 and will include festive shopping along with special offers, free gifts and street entertainment.

Adam Henson, Cotswold Farm Park director and BBC Countryfile presenter, is bringing along some animals for a children’s petting corner and will be signing books, and be a competition judge giving out prizes.

Giffords Circus folk will be providing street entertainment and local food and drink businesses will be passing around free samples.

Shops participating in an ‘Odd Object’ window competition with cash prizes to be won will stay open until 7pm.

As a grand finale, Mr Henson will be compering a Christmas Auction of Promises at 7pm at Huntsman’s Barn in Sheep Street, with lots of prizes including an evening gown and lunch with a private investigator.
