AFTER featuring in a major Japanese TV series earlier this year, Bourton House Garden has yet again been captured on camera.

The garden, in Bourton-onthe- hill, near Moreton, recently opened its gates to another Japanese film crew – this time from NHK Japan.

Young presenter and model Hanae interviewed head gardener Paul Nicholls who gave her some tips on tools and techniques while crew filmed the garden in its autumn glory.

Paul also spent time with Hanae demonstrating the art of planting a container, giving her plenty of ideas to take home to put into effect in her own small patio garden.

Christine Walford, administrator, said she did not know why the Japanese were so fascinated with the garden.

“We seem to be on the Japanese radar,” she said.

“Two or three years ago we had a visit from the president of the Japanese Topiary Association and she did a write-up.

“They certainly love the garden. I think they like the topiary. It’s very formal.”

Travelling the Curiosities, which also featured footage of Moreton, was broadcast on October 8 and will hopefully encourage more Japanese tourists to visit the Cotswolds in 2013.

Bourton House Garden is open to the public from 10am to 5pm every Wednesday, Thursday and Friday until the end of this month, when it closes for winter.
