 I WISH to thank everyone who contributed towards a highly successful Evesham Vale 10k and Subway Kids Fun Run this year.

What a marvellous turnout, despite the rainfall the previous day, and rumours the event had been cancelled.

I was overwhelmed by the atmosphere and the honor of knowing that the Tracy Sollis Leukaemia Trust was the nominated charity. The event was extremely well organised by Evesham Vale Running Club with further support given by Birdseye Sports, Subway and other local businesses. The start of the race was wonderful.

Evesham’s Mayor and Mayoress started the race together with former Olympic swimmer Jo Deakins and with music performed by Shipston Town Band. With hundreds of runners, it was a wonderful sight. I would also like to give a big thank you to volunteer marshals who did a great job in inspiring competitors to safely complete the course.

All in all it was a truly memorable day – even the sun shone!
