Sir - A few weeks ago I went into Asda in Pershore to do a little shopping. I completed my shopping and moved to the self service check out to finish and pay for my items.

As I approached the machine, which seemed to be in 'go slow' mode I noticed the person using the machine prior to me for several reasons which I will not go into here. As I waited for the machine to pick up and begin scanning my items, it suddenly sprang into life and ejected a certain amount of money.

I carried on with my transaction and took my shopping out to my car. I then looked around the car park for the person I had seen using the machine prior to me. It appeared that the person was not around on the car park so I re-entered the store and went to the Customer Service desk.

The store was very busy and the young person on the desk seemed a little harassed as though experiencing problems so I asked him quite quickly if anyone had reported a loss of cash from the machines.

He was certain that no such person had made any enquiries so I left my e-mail address in the log book with him for the person concerned to contact me on my e-mail address in order for the money to be returned.

However, I have not heard from anyone at all and I wondered if you could possibly use your letters page to again ask if the person who lost a certain amount of cash to contact me on robmor@tesco.net in order that the cash can be returned.

I would be so grateful for your help as, although it was not a large amount of cash, it is not mine and I need to return it to the person concerned.

Many thanks,

Maureen Bourne
