JOHN Smith's ungracious comments following his recent deselection as WDC councillor for Hampton (and the loss of one of his well-paid sinecures) shows that he just doesn't get it with regard to his abject failure to protect the public interest as County Councillor for Roads and Transport.

Mr David Day in his recent letter, precisely deals with Mr Smith's whinging face of Evesham comment, but since Mr Smith also claimed a few troublemakers caused his downfall, I , as one presumably covered by this silly statement, would again urge him to look at the hard facts.

At the first opportunity fro the public to vote on Mr Smith's failures - the County Council elections a year or so ago, Mr Smith held his seat by a few votes after sending three glossy items of self-publicity to every voter - his opponent sent none!

I would again urge Mr Smith to do the decent thing and resign his county council seat and post, having served the people of Evesham/Wychavon poorly over the bridge completion.

If Mr Smith believes that people who state plain facts are troublemakers then so be it - there is a fast growing army of such voters/taxpayers who are reacting to poor and inefficient council and public services and the belief of those therein that the organisation exists for their advancement rather than for the benefit to the public/taxpayers.
