I AM writing to highlight the wonderful work of the Evesham community enhanced care team in Waterside.
Recently a much-loved 93-year-old uncle who lives in Devon came for a short stay with his sister in South Littleton. She is also in her nineties.
Unfortunately, he became very poorly and her GP attended him.
With the support of the extended family she managed to look after him but after a few days it was clear extra help was needed.
Within 24 hours her GP had contacted the community care team at Waterside and a care package was put into place.
They came in and took over, and the attention he received was just wonderful.
They were cheerful, efficient, kind and considerate, and made him feel special; nothing was too much trouble. They were also supportive in every way to his sister.
At a time where we hear negative comments about our National Health Service I feel it only right to highlight the work of this dedicated service.
This is the NHS at its best and we are so very grateful.
