I AM absolutely appalled at reading in the Journal (April 9) that the planning application for the new Stow surgery has been turned down.
I cannot believe the excuses given, and the petty minds of the councillors who turned it down.
Stow Surgery is one of the hardest working surgeries in the area, with a terrific and valued team of doctors and nurses, and for one person to say that their existing surgery is adequate is unbelievable.
I am at a complete loss to understand why it would spoil the so-called area of outstanding natural beauty, when that hideous monstrosity was allowed at Moreton.
I think maybe these councillors opposing it are past their sell-by date and should move on.
One will hope that they do not need up-to-date facilities if they are ill.
I certainly think there should be an appeal and the main objectors put firmly in their place – they are not doing any service to the community.
