ALL too often the letters in a local paper focus on negatives about a town.

To those who willingly give much of their time to make a positive contribution this can make hard reading.

I have written before about how much Evesham has to celebrate and would reiterate that.

The Bell Tower Appeal that I have had the privilege of leading has enjoyed phenomenal support and goodwill from the townspeople.

As a runner, I was delighted to read recently about the hugely successful launch of the ParkRun – a great event that adds to Evesham's reputation as a running destination, already secured through the Vale 10k Run.

Evesham's first ever Cyclefest launched last year is set to take place again in September and will be bigger and better, and is now supported by another exciting developing – Cycle Evesham Vale. Evesham has a wonderful range of festivals. The first week of June sees the second year of the AsparaWriting Festival. Evesham Carnival sees a revival this year.

For a small town, there is a huge amount to celebrate.
