I WOULD like to thank all those who came along and participated in the public meeting on Monday evening in Evesham Town Hall.

Most of the issues discussed mirrored the plan priorities, especially those relating to transport, tourism, and the town centre.

Some additional ideas were also welcomed, and we were able to clarify the role of the delivery group, and funding.

My thanks also to the panel members on the evening, which included representatives from the town plan steering group, Wychavon District Council, and Rooftop Housing.

The hard work starts now, and I was pleased to hear the positive comments, and the general goodwill that existed in the audience for the plan to succeed.

This will require effort from all of us, and we all need to work together towards the common vision. If you believe you have expertise to offer in the delivery of the plan, then let us know.

Finally, I must thank the steering group members and chairman Patrick Staines, with whom I have enjoyed working.

Evesham has been loaned to us; we must hand it on to our children and grandchildren as a more prosperous place to live, work, and play.
