IT is a sad fact of life that a valuable service has to be axed in a bid to save money against the inevitable rising costs.

For me and the people living in my neck of the woods, the mobile library always came every three weeks, on Thursdays and parked in Morrison's car-park. The service I had from them has never failed to impress me: the staff were never anything other than helpful.

The mobile library will no longer be available to us: for me it's slightly easier in that I'm able to get about. The same cannot be said for the many elderly and house-bound people who valued the library service as it brought the outside world into their lives. Whether the service can be renewed at a later date remains to be seen.

I would like to thank the people running the service for me and many others. I could always get the books I wanted, even when I've had to wait for them to come in. Never once did they let me down.

Above all, the personal service given by the staff of the mobile library was always appreciated. If at a later date you think of re-vamping the services, please think of us!!
