YOUR photograph of the speed trap in Worcester Road (February 26) finally dispels any remaining semblance of dignity in the detection of speed offences.
The civilian operator apparently squatting alongside his motorcycle may find it more comfortable on a fisherman's stool if he seeks to conceal himself.
The Safer Roads Partnership cites four injury accidents between 2011 and 2013, and it may be a pertinent question to ask them to identify the location and dates of these incidents under the Freedom of Information Act.
Were they between Tesco and the 50mph limit signs, or between the 50mph limit signs and the A44 roundabout?
The latter of these sections do not, unfortunately, allow anywhere for partial concealment, so perhaps the easier option is more productive.
I have no objection per se to the principles of speed detection. But it is no doubt much more civilised for a policeman to look you in the eyes as he fills out his ticket rather than an individual who finds it necessary to hide.
