IS it just me or is there more rubbish lying around on the side of roads and in our countryside this year than ever before?

A few weeks back, on a daily walk, I noticed a shiny object lying deep in a hedgerow.

I ignored it at first but then as I passed it each day it started to irritate me.

Finally I decided to do something about it.

Without poking my eye or getting too badly scratched by brambles or thorns, I reached far into the hedge and ,with the tips of my fingers successfully managed to inch it towards me and pull it out of what may have otherwise been its or my final resting place. If anyone had seen me they must have wondered what on earth I was doing.

Had I left if an archaeologist may eventually have found it and sadly concluded that, at best, we were an untidy lot back in the 21st century.

Instead, the empty can of red something or other winged it into my green recycling bin where I hoped I wouldn't exceed my quota for the fortnight.

But blow me!

Just the other day, in almost the same spot, was another recently lobbed shiny object.

I have also removed that.

Who is this person who keeps leaving his or her rubbish around the place for others to clear up or not as the case may be?

And, before anyone accuses me of talking down to them, I'd say I'm not. In fact, I'm talking up to them an dI', saying:

"Get off your high horse and start putting your own rubbish in the bin and stop thinking about nothing but yourself all the time".
