THE timely reminder from Julian Palfrey referring to the ongoing and seemingly intractable problems at Pershore railway station should concern all train users of the need to finally resolve the 13-year saga about adequate parking as soon as possible.

It would appear that rail users living at some distance from Pershore are using the station for long term parking, thus adding to the problem for local users.

In addition, of course, the projected expansion of the town will make an enlarged car park absolutely essential.

The new leaflet issued by Worcestershire County Council regarding the proposed Worcester parkway station and its questionnaire should raise alarm bells about the future of Pershore station and it is surely time to seek assurances from Network Rail as to its intentions and for pressure for a more frequent service to London.
