THERE has of late been an incident within the confines of a property in Evesham, rented by four special needs adults, which has witnessed the involvement of solicitors, social services, the police and even the local MP for Evesham.

The reader may wonder that a heinous crime or unsavoury event of similar magnitude has been committed in order to justify this attention, but no, the ‘offence’ was an adult with special needs reciting episodes of Thomas the Tank Engine while standing in his back garden.

Well, he must have been using a megaphone at three o’clock in the morning, I hear you say – but no – normal voice for an hour or so in daylight during normal working hours.

This incident is sadly pathetic but unfortunately not isolated. Similar unjustified complaints are aimed at other special need adults in other similar homes within the Evesham community on a regular basis.

Let’s be perfectly clear on this – the real aims behind these complaints is the removal of these young adults from the area in order that the protagonists can sell their properties.

Who are these un-educated bigots who would deprive special needs adults of their liberties?

PS. I am the father of an autistic young man living in Evesham.
