I WOULD like comment on my next door neighbour's unusual ornament in his front garden (Journal, November 13).
I knew that the phone box was was going to be put in, and was annoyed that I was at work on the day it happened, but It was a lovely sight to drive home to that day, and it makes me smile every time I come home.
I had friends round one evening, and they all commented on how fabulous it looked (also that it was a great way to pinpoint where I live).
It has been a great hit round here, not only because it's something different, but it's a piece of English Heritage on my doorstep, which is being preserved instead of sold for scrap.
There is, sadly, a minor amount of opposition to the phone box, but I struggle to understand why. It isn't hurting anyone, it has enhanced the look of the street, and I love it.
