IT is entirely unacceptable for some Evesham councillors to want the town to put the bridge debacle behind it and to look forward to the future, so AR Dowling tells us.

In reality it is not just some "Evesham councillors" who want to say "glad that is over, now what do we do about Evesham", it is any of our citizens who cares more about the future of our town than about trying to score points.

I can understand Mr Dowling’s frustration; unaccountably Hochtief failed to consult him, did not ask him how they should build the bridge and went their own sweet way.

And I am sorry that he is so deeply traumatised by not being able to run his hand along the top of the handrail.

Possibly he could take a course of counselling and leave others to get on with trying to build an Evesham for the future.
