THESE people are intimidating. They don't sit and drink quietly but are loud and milling about.

A lone female is on the receiving end of unwelcome leering, gestures, kissing sounds and the way being barred so that it's difficult for her to pass by.

It turns what had been a pleasant riverside walk on a sunny day into something that is avoided evermore.

Just because they aren't breaking any law that would involve going to court doesn't mean they should be allowed to spoil simple pleasures of civilised townspeople.

I don't understand why there don't seem to be any bylaws any more. There used to be, to prevent anti-social behaviour such as this.

On a day out in Bath, I was looking at a map to find the way to a place I wanted to visit. Within seconds, a drunk was offering to show me the way. I moved away but he shambled after me. Next thing a policeman was there.

He said to the man: "I told you to stop pestering people."

Then he promptly marched this man away. Hurrah!

Why are the police in Bath able to move drunks away, but drunks in Evesham can pester who they like?
