ANDREW Dyke wrote that he’s been away from Evesham for a few weeks. I can only assume he’d been to Mars after he penned his letter regarding the bridge works.

For an elected representative to so badly fail to grasp what some businesses went through due to the crass incompetence and failings of both the contractor and the county council is staggering.

I quote: “Was it worth the wait and the heartache? Yes it was”

Tell that to the business people who suffered severe financial loss and hardship due to the failings of others over which they had no control. Tell that to the residents who put up with traffic chaos for way longer than was contracted for.

It’s clear that Cllr Dyke has no understanding of those he purports to represent.

His comments and views on this issue are insulting and he should resign.

If not, I sincerely hope that those who can will ensure he cannot return to office at the next available opportunity.
