WYCHAVON councillors are concerned that the new B and M store will suck business from the town.
Many years ago I brought to the attention of the same people in power that these large
businesses would be the downfall of this once great market town.
Let's take a look at what we have on the outskirts of town: Tesco, Boots, Next, Marks and Spencer, Argos, Pound Stretcher, Morrison's, Curry's and Lidl – all with the council's blessing.
Then we have Councillor Gerry O'Donnell worrying about the ribbon of development in Worcester Road. But it was his council that approved this development.
The council not long ago voted for an extension of buildings with Eagle One to
redevelop Twyford Garden Centre. Will this not take business out of the town?
No, the council hopes more coaches will come into town. But if there no shops why would they come?
