AS usual Evesham council moans about retailers moving to the edge of town.
Gerry O'Donnell says: "All it needs is a few retail outlets to start blossoming on an area and it starts to suck out the town centre."
The town centre had the life sucked out of it years ago. They need to realise that retailers follow what customers want (free parking) so if the council really wants to get customers into the town centre they need free parking (radical, I know).
However, I think small town centres as we know them are dead and need to develop and have small boutique specialist retailers rather than major retailers in them.
The council needs to be more positive about out of town shopping, stop blaming the retailers and look to itself for the state of the town centre.
