I READ with interest the article about speeding in the Journal (August 28).

I attended a speed awareness course last year and 20mph speed limits were covered. We were informed that this speed limit should have a sign before you enter the area that states “You are entering a 20mph speed limit area” and then a round “20” sign as you enter it.

There should also be intermittent “20” signs frequently along the road.

As you come into Pershore from the Worcester side the round “20” sign is at the traffic lights at the bottom of Station Road and could easily be missed.

I don’t think there is an intermittent “20” sign all the way through Bridge Street.

Coming into Pershore from the Evesham side is better signposted because the speed limit goes from 40, then an obvious 30 sign and then an obvious 20 sign and there is one intermittent 20 sign on the way to Broad Street.

At the moment there is also a flashing 20 sign about half way to Broad Street.

I understand why John Andrews is concerned about speeding traffic, and I am sure that there would be an improvement if the area was properly signposted.
