I WOULD like to thank all those who planned, set up and looked after the fabulous display of wedding dress, baptism items, memorabilia from the First World War and the early 1900s over the weekend of August 16 in aid of the Bell Tower Appeal.

The event raised over £700 and attracted both local visitors and from as far afield as South Africa and New Zealand.

Particular thanks to Pippa Hodges, Joyce Doyle, Sue Hopkins, John Doyle and Pip Hodges who spent many hours arranging the exhibits, including a 1898 wedding veil.

Katy and Sarah Tarplee designed and sold a very professional programme, raising some £200.

Sincere thanks are also due to those who kindly loaned the dresses, and several brides were amongst the many visitors.

Finally, thanks to all those who visited and enjoyed the displays – these events provide the town and its visitors with a rich source of recreation, and All Saints’ church is pleased to host such events for the benefit of all.

This is part of a full programme of events in support of the Bell Tower Appeal being supported by the Evesham Journal see www.eveshambelltower.org.uk
