I FEEL compelled to respond to the article in the Journal on July 31 about the idiot who made his way onto the plane at Birmingham airport.
So, just to be clear, here is a drunk lad who missed a flight for his boys' holiday to Ibiza and, because he didn't have money for an overnight hotel was faced with a decision.
Oh, yes, of course, it would occur to any sensible, intelligent, upstanding member of the community to sneak past security and attempt to stow away onto an empty plane – and here's the really funny part – in order to "prove how bad airport security is"!
It is utterly laughable. I read his justification with absolute incredulity that someone could be so deluded as to think that not only is this story plausible, but that it is not worthy of any sense of shame or embarrassment.
Yes, it appears that Birmingham airport has a security issue to investigate here, but please let us not be fooled into thinking that the moronic actions of an increasingly self-serving population are any less of a problem.
He has brought shame upon himself.
