WHAT a fabulous weekend to be a resident of Evesham, or a visitor to the town.
The river vestival was fantastic. On Saturday night we hosted a wonderful concert for the Bell Tower Appeal in All Saints Church. And then on Sunday we had the 10k run.
A group from my Leicester running club came down to take part in the race.
They were full of praise for the organisation of the run, the lovely scenic route, the great marshalling and the real friendliness of the people of the town.
As a group who had never been to Evesham before, they thought it was stunning – the river, the Abbey Park grounds are beautifully planted, they took advantage of the bell tower ringing chamber being open to visit, and generally decided it is a really beautiful town.
We all need to see beyond the empty shops and really appreciate what we have on our doorstep.
