As a one-time resident of Honeybourne, I agree with the reason for the concerns of Sue Smith (Evesham Journal, April 3).

If the residents of Honeybourne feel they have been "ridden roughshod" by the planning bureaucrats, then they could write to the minister individually. He will need to address their concerns.

If 200 new houses are needed to satisfy housing needs, then issues such as traffic safety of pedestrians, and recreational needs of the children in that part of the village affected should be provided by the developers.

All the impacts should be examined. Station Road is a very busy road with heavy traffic too. To imagine more houses, with still no playing field nearby, is tantamount to neglect of the needs of the children.

After all, the developers are getting an economic benefit from Honeybourne. But the social costs are being borne by the people of Honeybourne. There needs to be some fairness.
