WELL, well, well. It is hard to believe that a councillor who initially appeared totally unaware of the delays in the construction of the new bridge and only responded to public concerns following pressure from local people and businesses in letters to the Evesham Journal has placed a full page “information advert” in the Evesham Journal saying nothing new, and which appears to be only an ego-booster.

Since the raising of those concerns, only fudged answers, denials and the hiding behind the statement of “commercial sensitive information” have been released in any response.

Let us hope that the local electorate do not have short memories over this pitiful handling of the bridge contract and also recall the fiasco of the 'Evesham Town Centre Enhancement' at the next round of local elections and vote accordingly.

Is it not about time that the contractors, Worcestershire County Council and our local government representative came clean and answered the earlier questions put to them?

We all pay high enough council tax to expect to get proficient staff, officers and local representatives to efficiently oversee such projects, the only question is where are they?
