I WATCH with despair the forthcoming housing developments planned for our small market town.
After two weekends of severe traffic disruption and chaos for just the remedial work prior to the bridge replacement, I can’t help wondering if Evesham residents are to become prisoners within their own town, as it seems unlikely that we will be able to use any of the network roads surrounding the town.
I can’t even see how emergency vehicles will be able to respond to calls with any efficiency as it looks like the bridge work will coincide with the Cheltenham Road, Offenham Road and Elm Road housing developments, all bringing additional traffic and, no doubt, traffic control to these major roads.
It is time the voices raising these concerns, of which there have been many, are listened to and addressed by the planners we put our trust in.
