Haiti Coffee Morning: As the result of an impromptu coffee morning held at their home by kind invitation of Jane and Chris Gooding, the sum of £557 has been paid to the Haiti Disaster Fund. Many thanks to the neighbours and friends who supported the event.

Owing to the adverse weather conditions early in the year the January meeting of the Wellesbourne Women’s Institute was cancelled. The subject was to have been “Bees and Beekeeping” and since the plight of the honey bee is felt to be so important we are hoping to re-schedule this meeting, possibly to August.

In February The WI welcomed Robin Furlong, our local furniture maker, to an open meeting. He described how he became interested in furniture and then illustrated the development of his designs and showed examples of his work. Everyone was fascinated by his expertise. Robin is obviously a very talented man. Altogether an interesting and enjoyable evening.
