Peopleton WI wk20

President, Jill Brotheridge welcomed everyone to the May meeting. Members were reminded that the next few weeks were very busy with members providing the refreshments at the Peopleton Pony & Dog Show on May 21 and co-hosting with Fladbury WI, the Pershore Group meeting on June 21 at Peopleton Village Hall with guest speaker, Master Florist Hans Haverkamp. They were also given details of the June meeting which will be a visit to Worcester Museum followed by supper and a visit which has been arranged for July to David Austin Roses at Albrighton, Wolverhampton.

The main business of the evening was a debate of two resolutions, one about ensuring the continued provision of libraries and the other about factory farming. WI advisor, Ann Smith, presented and explained the resolutions to the group. There was much discussion and a vote taken whether members were for or against the resolutions. The results will be passed to our group delegate who will be attending the WI AGM in Liverpool and will vote on our behalf. After all the discussions members then relaxed with a lovely supper which had been provided by the committee Peopleton WI meets on the 2nd Tuesday of the month in Peopleton Village Hall at 7.30pm. We warmly welcome visitors to come along to our meetings.
