THE speaker at our June meeting was Joan Bond who set up EducAid India.

After many years of service in charity work Joan and her husband with a group of friends decided to set up their own charity, focusing on education and community development. They see the education of girls, not often readily available, as particularly important.

Members had recently enjoyed a Jubilee lunch in the WI Hall and a visit to the National Memorial Arboretum where the good weather was a real bonus, enabling them to see many of the moving memorials.

The next meeting will be on Thursday, July 12, at 7.30pm in the WI Hall when Jeff Ford will demonstrate Enamelling on Copper.
