Harvington

A VISIT by British Olympic 800m runner Joe Thomas to Harvington First School hopefully has inspired many youngsters to become more involved in sports.

On Saturday, April 28, the village hall rang to the sounds of folk music from Ian Idris and his accompanists Diane Idris and Glyn Williams. Proceeds will go to support the work of the Harvington Youth Project.

On Tuesday, May 8, friends and neighbours can catch up over a cup of tea and a biscuit or two at the weekly coffee morning at Harvington Baptist Church from 10am until noon.

On Wednesday, May 9, there is another chance to chat, this time over a cup of tea and a slice of cake, at CAMEO teas, starting at 3pm in St James’ Church.

The parish council meeting will take place on Wednesday, May 9, in the village hall at 7.30pm.

Contact Nicky on 793050.

On Thursday, May 10, the walking group is planning a nine-mile trip to Bridgnorth.

Also on Thursday, the Harvington 50-plus Lunch Club meets at the Coach and Horses from noon to 3pm.
