BLOCKLEY WI

FOR its July meeting, Blockley WI welcomed one of its members, Chris Boddington, and the daughter of a former member, Penny Balhatchett, to speak about their exciting but separate travels in Ethiopia.

Arriving in Addis Ababa, Chris and her fellow travellers were taken for a strange-looking meal, an injera – a bubbly looking pancake containing meat, vegetables, herbs and spices.

Venturing out of the cities, both Chris and Penny encountered happy and skilful people. Chris travelled in the northern part of Ethiopia and Penny in the more tribal southern areas. Their stunning photographs really took us inside this fascinating country.

Our next meeting, following our August visit to Upton House, near Banbury, is on Thursday, September 6, at 7.15pm in St George’s Hall, when Alistair Lack will talk on Inspector Morse and Oxford.
