SHIRLEY McAloon, the President welcomed everyone to the May meeting. All the details of events, outings and classes were detailed in the monthly newsletter.
This was a different evening the 2017 resolutions on Plastic Soup and Alleviating Loneliness were discussed and it was unanimously agreed that the delegate should vote for the resolution at the National meeting in June. One member commented that one of the best ways to alleviate loneliness was to join the WI! .
A fun auction then took place. Items had been brought by everyone. They varied from ceramic pots, cosmetics and even a painting from a talented member. Perhaps the painting will be an antique of the future and destined to be on Antique Road Show!
A Ploughman’s Supper was then enjoyed .
The speaker at our June meeting on June 8 will be Graham Sutherland.His talk is titled Wicked Women – Sinners or Sinned against
